COVID-19

Sunday Services Online

Due to the government restrictions, we are not physically meeting in the church building during the lockdown for Sunday services. As a result, we sadly have postponed the 9am Service until at least December and we are continuing our 10:30am Service on Zoom and Facebook Live on Sunday. Our Children's Service Explore the Word continues this Sunday at the usual time of 9:30am on the St Jude's Website, Facebook, YouTube and our Youth Instagram Page (links below). Please do not come to the church building on Sundays as you will sadly be turned away.

Church Open for Private Prayer

Although our Sunday services are exclusively online, the building continues to be open for Private Prayer from 12-2pm on Wednesdays and Fridays each week. No need to sign up. Just come to the front entrance and a member of staff will be there to guide you.

Prayer for the Nation: How to Fast?

The Archbishops of York and Canterbury are calling the church to regard this second lockdown as a month of prayer. They recommend we use 6pm as a time for us to pray each evening wherever we may be. However, we're also being encouraged to fast each Thursday. But how exactly do we fast? Take a look at this fantastic document here to find out more. For more information on the Prayer for the Nation movement, click here.

Pastoral Team

Our telephone lists are in place to help and support those we know of who are in most immediate need. But we will also be trying to stay in touch with all our church members so if we call you please do not be put out. A friendly voice on the phone can really lift the spirits so this is a chance for us all to get involved. Please take time to call those you are connected with or any who might be feeling lonely at this time. This is a real chance for us to build community in the face of this crisis. It has been great to hear already of so much support being given. Worship is also available via Premier Christian Radio and UCB radio channels which are available via digital television and DAB radio. There are also lots of resources, as well as the latest information on the church’s response, on the Church of England website.

If you have any stories that you would like us to make public then please send them into the office email.

With love and prayers

Jesus' love transforming lives from the heart of southsea

St Jude's is an Anglican Church in the heart of Southsea. We are about 300 people of all ages, so there should be someone similar to you!

At St Jude's we believe that everyone has been made by God to know Him and love Him.

Our desire is to be an exciting place where we encounter God, see lives transformed and to be a haven in the heart of Southsea, where you can find a safe port in the storms of life, and get rebuilt, re-provisioned, re-equipped and re-commissioned for a new voyage of adventure!
